Preserve, restore and protect your memories. Negatives age, fade and scratch over time. We use negative preservers to protect and organize your negatives. Safe from dust and fingerprints and safe for long-term storage. Digital Memory Scans provides high resolution scanning service, using the lastest ICE (Image Correction and Enhancement) technology when scanning your pictures and negatives. We use white gloves with professional scanners on all your pictures, negatives and slides.
So, what is "dpi" and why the difference in expense? First, "dpi" stands for dots per inch. Most pictures you get developed are 4x6. (4 inches wide and 6 inches long). The higher the dpi-dots per inch- the better your pictures resolution. It also takes longer to scan. For most pictures that are 4x6 a dpi of 300 is good, unless you want to enlarge your pictures to 8x10 size, then use the 600 dpi. For negatives and slides, 2000 dpi will be good if you only want a 4x6 picture made. If you want a larger pictures size then use the 4000 dpi setting.
